朝方になるとすずめの鳴く声が聞こえてくるのは普通のことなのですが、玄関の扉を開けたところ、普段よりも大きくチュンチュンという鳴き声が聞こえてきました。
It is quite normal to hear sparrows singing in the morning. I opened the front door and heard louder tweeting than usual.

アパートの通路を見ると、一羽のすずめがいました。追っていくと入り口の方まで逃げていきましたが、ピョンピョンと跳ねるだけで飛べないようなので雛のようでした。
I found a sparrow in the passageway of my apartment. As I followed it, it went away to the entrance of the apartment house. It only bounced away, looked too little to fly.

いじめるつもりではありませんが、入り口に追い詰めてしまったところです。
I chased it up to the entrance door but I didn't mean to be cruel to the little bird.



まだあどけない顔です。成鳥のりりしい顔つきはまだありません。
It has a naive face. It doesn't have a cool look that an adult sparrow has.

ひょっとすると空腹なのかもと勝手に思い、米粒をペットボトルのキャップに入れて与えてみましたが、怯えているようで突付こうともしません。
I assumed it was hungry. I put some rice in a cap of a plastic bottle and gave it to the birdie, but it seemed afraid to eat the rice.

一時間半ほどそのままにしていましたところ、雛の鳴き声と合わせて近くから親鳥と思われる鳴き声も聞こえていたので、親が探しにきているようでした。雛はまた入り口の方に行っていたので、別の場所に移してあげることにしました。移す前に数枚姿を収めておきました。
About an hour and a half after I left the little bird alone, I heard another tweeting that sounded like from its parent bird. Its parent might be looking for the little bird. The little bird was away at the entrance door again. I decided to move it to another place outside the apartment house.






アパートの通路から移してすぐ近くの車などの通らない場所に放してあげました。
I moved it to a small safe place where people or cars don't pass.


十分ほどして様子を見に行ったのですが、すでにいなくなっていました。親元のところに戻っていることを望んでます。
I went to see the place again 10 minutes later and found it was gone. I hope it's with its parent now.

ちょっと夜食を食べに行こうと駐輪しているところに向かっていると、足元に小さく色の着いたものがありました。


こいつです。


どこに行こうとしたのか、そのままぴょんぴょんと跳ねて壁に登りました。




100mほど離れたところに水路はあるのですが、近くには水場はないのでなんでこんなところに迷い込んだのかなと不思議でした。
